Uncommon Gift MallNovember 21-29, 2009
Cotact: |
Instead of a season of peace and bliss, Christmas ends up a season of stress, traffic jams, and shopping lists. Ugly sweaters, ill patterned ties, and random gift cards fill brightly colored boxes every year. Americans spend, on average, $450 billion every Christmas. What if that money went to the needy, the homeless, or the forgotten? It would be revolutionary. Click here to learn more about the Uncommon Gift Mall. |

The Funk Family - Hooper BayOctober 24-November 1, 2009
Contact: 345-1904, |
The Funk family's ministry in Hooper Bay has proven to be one of the most culturally relevant ministries in bush Alaska. Training youth leaders by mentoring them in village life, taking them thousands of miles to native leadership summits and helping them learn and develop skills to become productive members of their community has been at the center of the Funks' ministry for the past 9 years. Their leadership in teaching young people in aviation science has grown into a ministry called AVSTEM which they hope will open doors for teaching in many bush communities where youth ministries may also be developed. |
