Vision and Mission

Our Vision is:

Life in Christ for every Alaskan… and the world beyond.

Jesus said, “I have come that they might have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10).  At ChangePoint we are learning to live that full life and we want to share it with others.   We hope that someday, every Alaskan will experience the love of God and that the life of Jesus will spread from us to the rest of the world.

Our Mission is:

…To train Christ followers who…

Enjoy God together…

Are being transformed together, and…

Demonstrate the heart of Jesus Christ together.

Among the last things that Jesus told his disciples before ascending to his Father in Heaven are these statements:

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)

and

“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)

The church is a community in which people learn to love God, to love growing in their relationship with God, and to love the world that God created and that Jesus died to redeem.  It is the mission of the organized church then to train and to encourage individuals in that community as they learn to follow Jesus in the world

Our Core Practices

Each of the three values in our mission statement has two core practices associated with it.  Core practices are the foundational habits that shape our lives as followers.  These are not rules; they are life-skills that promote health and maturity in our relationship with God and in our relationships with others.

We enjoy God together as we…

…Worship God in spirit and in truth and…

…Belong to each other in committed relationships.

We are being transformed by God together as we…

…Follow Jesus in obedience to the Scriptures and…

…Partner with others in our spiritual journey.

We demonstrate the heart of Jesus Christ together as we…

…Invest ourselves fully in God’s work of redemption and…

…Share the Gospel through our personal story.
